I remember, a long time ago, my mom asking me about pointed toe pumps. She wondered if they were worth buying as platform, more rounded toe pumps were en vogue at the time. But there are pieces that just never go out of style (pointed toe pumps included). Perhaps they’re not “trendy” at the moment, but they will always look chic. The following five are some of them:

1. The Camel Coat

2. Striped Top

3. Black Jeans

4. Black/Silver Belt

5. Pointed toe Booties

I had such a nice weekend, full of dinners and brunch with friends and the Oscars with family. I love the Oscars, I look forward to it for months and even print out a voting sheet (while forcing it on everyone else who watches with me). Recap: Love that Jared won (and he looked amazing), wish that Leo won (sorry Matthew), wasn’t blown away by any dresses, but Lupita took the cake (although I wish she had taken off that headband). Did you watch? Favourite moments (fashion or otherwise)?

Watched the Oscars, start to finish (when the CTV.ca stream was working) and I’m so happy with who won. I was totally rooting for Matthew, and Jared Leto. Or the peeps from 12 Years a Slave. And I’m happy Her won for Best Original Screenplay. And Lupita looked amazing – totally agree about the headband though!

Great post! I agree with all your basics, but I’m still hunting down a few of them – specifically the camel coat!

I’ve been hunting for the perfect striped top; I found one and then I couldn’t decide whether to get black or grey. I should’ve bought both.

Jill, I couldnt agree more with those 5 classic items. The pointed toe heels is my all time favourite and this year they are in again *YEAH* hehehe. Love this ensemble, super chic with a laid back touch. Thanks for visiting my blog, hope to see you around more often :-).

I really NEED to get a long camel coat. Wilfred came out with the perfect oversized coat a couple years ago, that I didn’t jump on. Definitely regretting that now.
