HOW TO LOOK AMAZING ON VACATION

easy vacation makeup and skincare

1. GET AN EYELASH TINT

It sounds odd for those of you that have never heard of it, but basically it’s like temporarily dying your eyelashes – it lasts for about 2-3 weeks. I hate wearing mascara (or much makeup at all) while on vacation but it’s nice to have a little definition on your eyes. I would do blue/black (which is just really dark black) on darker hair colours and brown/black for blondes.

2. GO WITH YOUR NATURAL HAIR

My natural hair is limp and not the best, but I refuse to “do” my hair every day/night on vacation. So I’ll wear hats and tie it back in a ponytail. Earrings can dress up the look for the evening. If my hair takes longer than 30 seconds to do on vacation, I swear I’ll shave it off.

3. DON’T BRING TOO MANY CLOTHES

Sounds weird coming from a fashion blogger I know. But just bring your favourites and the pieces you feel most comfortable in. You don’t want to be overwhelmed by your wardrobe (or anything, really) while on vacation.

4. GET SHELLAC-ED

I do my own nails all the time, but for vacation when you’ll be in the water, sun, sand, just get shellac. It won’t get beat up or peel off and you won’t have to re-do it for weeks (who wants to do their nails on vacation?!)

5. TAKE MULTI-USE MAKEUP PRODUCTS

My favourite makeup product to take on vacation is my Tom Ford cream cheek colour – the bronze colour is perfect with a tan and I use it on my cheeks, eyes and as a highlight. All you need is a little concealer and lip balm to finish the natural look.

6. USE SUNSCREEN (AND FACE SELF TANNER)

You all know by now that I’m a sunscreen freak (I wish I would have been more so in my early 20’s). I like to tan my body, but I still use sunscreen to protect against skin cancer (SPF50+). I also never tan my face (hence the face self-tanner). My current favourite face self-tanner is the Vita Liberata dry oil self-tan. It’s not orange at all, doesn’t smell, and doesn’t make me break out.

These tips also work really well in the summer, where you also don’t want to be wearing a lot of makeup or spending time inside. Happy vacationing!

Thanks Jill for the tips, I’m leaving tomorrow as we speak!
The only thing I did “wrong” was overpack.. haven’t even left yet and I already know I overpacked but no time to change anymore since I’m leaving in 10hours, eeeeek!

Ahhh don’t worry, we all do it! I always overpack and am constantly trying to limit what I bring… I feel like it’s a female thing! Hope you have an amazing trip 🙂

      xx Jill

Lash tints are. the. BEST. I get my lashes and brows tinted all summer long.

Also an unrelated post request: What trends do I need to buy this summer? I’m overwhelmed and you are my style bible so some guidance would be much appreciated!
