love{ly} days

in true valentine’s day fashion (no pun intended), here is a very colourful outfit. NOT. these photos were actually taken a while ago, but i think it’s funny that my first reaction was to put such a neutral (ahem grey and black) outfit post up on st. valentine’s day. i don’t really have the best relationship with valentine’s day, not because i’m bitter about being single (i’m very happily attached) but because there is so much pressure to spend money and make grand gestures for this one day. my idea of a lovely valentine’s day evening is a simple one with food, wine and a movie (regardless of whether it’s with friends or partners). i hate the idea of lonely and sad people on such a day! but enough of my griping, love is a great thing to celebrate, no matter how much input hallmark has into the holiday.

moving onto the clothes, this maxi dress is one of my summer favorites. it’s simple and super comfy (very important). but i wanted to find a way to winterize it without freezing my tuckus off. in comes my favorite (and oldest- 6 years!) cashmere sweater. i have to say that these days it can be harder and harder to find quality clothing (even with expensive price tags) and so i appreciate a well made and amazing quality piece even more (thanks vince).

dress: Aritzia (similar) | cardigan: Vince (similar here and here) | boots: Frye | belt: vintage Hermes (worn backward) similar that i LOVE | sunglasses: Ray Ban | jewelry: Michael Kors, Mango bracelet (similar), vintage bangles, vintage ring (similar here and here)

wishing you a day full of love (any kind) and chocolate!!

This is a really cute outfit. I like that it looks comfortable too, it’s a bit of a bummer when you have to give up your comfort for an outfit. BTW super cute haircut 🙂

Love it! I totally agree about Valentine’s Day… Takeout, A bottle of red wine, chocolate and a movie is my idea of a perfect night.
