You may be thinking that a slip dress isn’t the wisest clothing purchase right now, but I’m gonna go ahead and beg to differ. I finally found the perfect slip dress last fall and I’ve worn it all winter – actually. It amazes me how versatile it can be and it’s something that I’m constantly reaching for when I can’t figure out what to wear. A slip dress is the ideal base layering piece: add a tee, sweater, coat, scarf, hat, and boots. Or wear a turtleneck/sweater underneath (something I have yet to experiment with). There are numerous ways to style it and I’ve only scratched the surface. Here, I’ve paired it with my current favourite blazer (H&M – sold out my friends, don’t hate me! Similar below!) + my trusty 3.1 Phillip Lim boots. I’ve also linked my 5 favourite black slip dresses at all price points (that Reformation dress, though – next on my list).

Wishing you all a wonderful start to the week!

Hi jill! I love your clothes! Question; do you get everything or almost everything tailored/hemmed? Which clothing items do you think usually need tailoring the most? I’m always skeptical of buying clothing online especially pants and dresses, because im so short and it so annoying to tailor everything to my size!
