shoutout to my photographer- blog v neck bodysuit v neck bodysuit jeans and adidas stan smith american apparel bodysuit and jeansv neck bodysuit and jeansgas station editorial shoot

I struggled for weeks with what to write for this post. I wrote about how weird I was a kid (very weird – still am), how two of my best friends also have this top/bodysuit, and how this gas station is very creepy and reminds me of The Jinx for some reason (which you should watch, by the way). But nothing came out right. I don’t like posting without having something to say along with the photos. And I don’t want it to be “Here’s my latest outfit! Love ya!

So I’m going to take this opportunity to shoutout to my photographer for this shoot: my momma. She is so patient with me and all the anxiety that comes with taking photos for my blog (is it too light? Dark? Are my eyes closed? Can you take it one more time?). And she’s become a wonderful photographer over the years of doing this with me (the proof is in the pictures – these are some of my favourites this year). Here’s to me being less snappy during shoots and to both of us continuing to learn more about photography together.

I’m back from an amazing trip to Toronto… am very excited to share snaps of the CAFA gala later this week! Stay tuned 🙂

ok, first of all… this epitomizes the phrase ” simple but striking” You look absolutely amazing, Jill. Gosh, I dig your style.
I’m so glad you decided to shout out to your photog. See, your writer’s block or confusion was fate bc you were meant to write about your momma, and your blogging journey with her. I really found this so touching and wonderful bc I always wish I had a patient photographer who understood how anxiety provoking it is on the other side of that camera, and how blogging is an art and we have to be picky! My husband takes my pics and he does it for me (bless his heart) but he doesn’t enjoy it or understand it. I think it is such a nice set of memories you have made with your mom over the years, and how cool is it that she is a part of your amazing blog. You guys make a great team and it shines through. Thanks for sharing this.

I feel the same way. I get super frustrated when I think my writing is lame. I can’t bear to post. And I didn’t know your Mom shot you! That’s very nice. Sometimes I’ll shoot with my sister and it’s definitely been a learning process regarding how to work together.

I know exactly what you mean about wanting to have some sort of back story to go along with your outfit post. For me, it just makes it more personal, otherwise it’d just be another outfit post.

Btw your mom is a great photographer!
