TOP 5 CONCEALERS

A good concealer is one of the hardest things for me to find (it’s right up there with a great foundation). I did a lot of research for this story – I read a lot of articles and bought way too many concealers to test them out. There were a few pleasant surprises (Milk Makeup), a few disappointments (I wish I liked Nars Creamy Concealer more!), but overall, here are my top 5 concealers:

1. CLE DE PEAU CONCEALER

I know I’ve said it a million times, but this is my favourite concealer ever. I use it every day to spot conceal – the creamy, but solid texture is perfect without being drying. Yes, it’s expensive, but a stick will last me an entire year.
My colour: Beige

2. MAKE UP FOR EVER ULTRA HD CONCEALER

My favourite under eye concealer – it’s very moisturizing (which I need under my eyes), but is pigmented enough to cover my dark circles and pigmentation under my eyes. I’m wearing this one in the photo above (with a bit of Cle de Peau as well) – see the full tutorial here.

3. LAURA MERCIER SECRET CAMOUFLAGE

The first concealer I ever used, and still one of the best. It comes with two consistencies – one is creamier (better for under the eye), and one is better for spot concealing. The colours are also different, with one shade formulated to match skin’s depth of color, while the other matches skin’s undertone.
My colour: SC-2 or SC-3

4. BURBERRY CASHMERE CONCEALER

This is a new find for me (see the video here), but it has quickly become a staple. The applicator is one of my favourite parts: it has a soft, round-tip sponge which is very gentle on the under eye area (more so than the brushes that usually come with a concealer pen). The formula also blends out beautifully.
My colour: No.4 Honey (or Porcelain in the winter)

5. URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN COMPLETE COVERAGE CONCEALER

I bought this on a whim while doing research for this story (at Sephora – tough job, right?), and was so impressed that I’ve been using it daily. I find that concealers that are pigmented enough to cover my under eye pigmentation are usually too drying, but this one is creamy and hydrating. It never makes me look as if I’m wearing a lot of concealer.
My colour: Light Neutral

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
6. MILK MAKEUP FLEX CONCEALER

This is the first product I’ve purchased from Milk and I really love it. It is a creamy concealer but dries to a nice matte finish and doesn’t crease.
My colour: Light Medium

7. COVER FX CREAM CONCEALER

I really like the coverage from this product, but find it slightly drying, especially for the under eye area. It works really well for spot concealing, however.
My colour: G Light

I was using the Ultra HD – which I thought was the best I’ve ever used until I tried the Burberry Cashmere and I think that is my new favorite! Thanks Jill! Your recommendations are always the BEST!

Love that you love Laura! (: I worked for them in Aus for three years and still use the secret camo; it is one of the best!(: i just want to let you know though that its an oil free aloe vera based product; not actually made for the under eye area but it does work if mixed in with a little bit of eye serum or eye moisturiser. It is great for spot concealing as it doesn’t feed on bacteria in acene or blemishes and the two pans are to be mixed together to get a customised shade just for you (: I love that this is in your recommendations and i definitely will be giving those others a try! Love your work! You are one of the best bloggers/youtubers i follow (: xx
