TOP 5 FOUNDATIONS

I am suuuuuper picky when it comes to things that I put on my skin… especially foundation. I’ve tried a lot of them over the years and these are my tried and true top 5 foundations as of right now:

1. JANE IREDALE PUREPRESSED BASE

A daily favourite, I often get asked what I have on my face when wearing this foundation. It has light coverage, and somehow makes your skin looks airbrushed, but not fake. It also has SPF 20, which is great if you forget sunscreen (although ideally you would put this foundation over your sunscreen). I wear it in many of my YouTube makeup videos.

2. CHARLOTTE TILBURY LIGHT WONDER

I know, I’m a big Charlotte Tilbury fan… I do apologize as I know that the makeup is not cheap, but I honestly really love their products. This foundation is creamy, but light and it blends beautifully. I’m wearing it in this video.

3. TOM FORD WATERPROOF FOUNDATION

This has to be the most expensive product I’ve ever used. But I promise you, it’s also one of the very best foundations I’ve ever used. I plan on buying it for my wedding (as a wedding gift to myself!).

4. SMASHBOX STUDIO SKIN 15 HOUR HYDRATING FOUNDATION

This was one of the first liquid foundations that I tried and actually liked. It has a heavier coverage than I usually wear, but I started small and built it up where I needed (chin, forehead). It’s also oil-free, which I love since my skin can be reactive to some foundations with oil. I’m using it in this makeup tutorial video.

5. L’OREAL PRO GLOW FOUNDATION

L’Oreal is one of my favourite drugstore brands – their products are very reasonably priced, but the colours really pay off. I used this foundation in this Instagram video here and it covered very well  without looking cakey. It is a “glow” foundation, but it wasn’t too glowy (read: greasy) for my oily skin.

We are off to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico next week! I’m so excited to for some sun and a bit of a break. If you guys have any food/drink or activity/adventure recommendations, I’d LOVE to hear them!

La Trattoria del Centro is awesome pizza in Playa Del Carmen – Nicli Antica style pies in the cutest open restaurant.

If you get a chance, head over to the island of Cozumel. It’s a short ferry ride from Plays del Carmen. Guidos makes the best wood oven pizza and their garlic bread is out of this world! Plus they have great Sangria. Enjoy!

Enjoy your holiday! Any chance you could do a packing video?….ie. what you pack for a beach (hot) location, which items over others and why. Also mixing and matching what you pack etc. Would love ideas how you put it all together (I’m an over packer! EEEk!). Sometimes you just want to bring all of your favourite things! (insert blushing emoticon).

    Regards 🙂

I haven’t try any of them, so I definitely have to do it. I’m always choosing a wrong foundation… So I have to fix this hahaha. Have a nice day!
