Denim is one of my sartorial go-to’s. Whether it’s jeans or a denim-inspired, chambray shirt, I always feel comfortable, effortless and sexy in denim. I love the distressed look, especially going into summer as it evokes such a casual cool feel. However, there are ways to do it properly:
1. Keep the distressing light and in places where it would naturally happen (knees, around pockets).
2. Make sure the jeans actually fit well– people can overlook fit because of the distressing
3. Women (and men) of any age can wear distressed denim, but I would suggest that the older you get, the less distressing you have. You want it to look like these are your favourite, super old jeans that still happen to look amazing.
